The MINI CVT paddle-shift retrofit is available for US MINIs, previously unavailable for the US market.

The retrofit involves installing a pair of MINI OEM paddles and other MINI OEM electrical parts. There is no need to replace the steering wheel and no need to reset any codes by the dealer. The DIY kit includes a 35-page illustrated instructional manual with step-by-step on how to go about retrofitting this feature in your MINI CVT. Basic mechanical and electrical knowledge recommended.

This retrofit is fully compatible with:

  • US specs MINI Cooper.
  • R50 2001 through 2004.
  • With multifunctional steering wheel or non-multifunctional steering wheel.

  • Phillips and Flat screwdriver
  • T-10, T-20, T-27 or T-30 torx
  • 10mm wrench (from your trunk tool box)
  • 16mm socket and ratchet (at least 3/8" drive)
  • 6" extension bar (for 16mm socket)
  • Old credit card or plastic prying tool
  • Toothpicks or non-metallic small pin-like object
  • Electrical tape
  • Torque wrench (for the 16mm bolt)
