• We do not sell SSG DIY kits that let you modify or mount your own SSG paddles to your own steering wheel.
• We do not sell the individual parts of the kit.
• We have to modify the SSG paddles. Period.

SSG paddles (the silver piece) are offered as part of the SSG tranmission package in Europe and parts of Asia. SSG paddles have a different mechanism compared to the SMG paddles. Each SSG paddle has a "push" and "pull" action. These SSG paddles are designed by BMW but made in Japan.The SSG paddles retrofit idea surfaced after some frustrations waiting for BMW AG to restock SMG wheels. And since a lot of BMW owners replaced the sport wheel with M3 wheel, I thought it might be a good idea to "recycle" the old sport wheel by retrofitting SSG paddles. Unfortunately, this is not a plug-N-play set of paddles. Elaborate modifcations are needed to make the paddles work as intended.

The SSG paddles can be mounted onto the following steering wheels:

• 3-spoke AC Schnitzer sport steering wheel [wheel not available anymore]
• 3-spoke sport steering wheel with "trianglular airbag"
• 3-spoke M sport steering wheel Leather
• 3-spoke M sport steering wheel Alcantara
• 3-spoke M sport steering wheel Leather and Myrtle wood trim
• M3 Leather Wheel with SSG and Titan II Trim.
• M3 Leather Wheel with SSG and Dark Poplar Wood Trim.
• M3 Alcantara Wheel with SSG and Dark Poplar Wood Trim.

This retrofit is fully compatible with:

• Euro and US specs.
• E46 318, 320, 323, 325, 328, 330 from 2000 through 2004.
• E83 X3 2.0, 2.5, 3.0 from 2004 through present.
• E53 X5 3.0i, 4.4i, 4.6i from 2000 through 2003 and new facelifted from 2004 through present.
• E39 520, 523, 525, 528, 530, 535, 540 from 03/1999 through 2003.
• E38 728, 730, 735, 740, 750 from 03/1999 through 2001.

There are essentially two options:

Option 1.
You can send in your steering wheel to be modified by us. We will provide the SSG paddles and the DIY kit. You have to pay one-way shipping. Starts from US$850.00.

Option 2.
We can purchase a new steering wheel , modify it with SSG paddles and provide the DIY kit. All you need to do is sit back, relax and wait for the SSG retrofit set. Starts from US$1190.00.
